Pluck the stems and deseed the cherries. Do not cut the cherries for removing pits but use some toothpick or chopstick. Just insert the chopstick in the stem part of cherry, gently press and seed will come out from the other end.
We are using small ramekin bowls. However you can use a large baking dish or pie dish as well. Grease the bowl with butter. For the given ingredients, you need to have 4 ramekin bowls.
Arrange cherries at the base of the bowl. In one bowl, around 15 cherries could be accommodated. Keep aside.
Add 1/2 cup semolina, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp baking soda , 1/2 tsp vanilla essence, 1/2 cup milk and 50 grams melted butter in a bowl.
Give them a good mix.
Pour the batter in the ramekin bowls, not upto the rim.
Bake in a pre-heated oven @200°C for 18 to 20 minutes.
Bring them out. Clafoutis is ready. Enjoy
