Cuisine Indian
Servings 20 cookies

Ingredients

1 cup = 200 ml

  • 1.5 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter
  • Sugar syrup as needed (roughly around little more than 1/2 cup)
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt (skip if using salted butter)

Instructions

  • Take butter in a bowl and whisk it until it turns creamy and pale yellow.
  • Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Mix them well.
  • Now start adding sugar syrup but VERY LITTLE at a time. (See notes below)
  • Make a dough of tight consistency.
  • Now shape them into small cookies and arrange them on a baking tray lined with greased butter paper. You can give them any shape and design as per your liking.
  • Place the tray in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Bake them @170°C for 20-25 minutes or until the corners of cookies turn slightly brown.
  • Your cookies are ready. Enjoy.

Notes

Be very very careful in adding the sugar syrup into the flour. If it exceeds in quantity and dough becomes thin & lumpy, it will be difficult or almost impossible to roll that into cookies.
