Soft, fluffy, eggless, free from all purpose flour, butter and refined sugar, this cake made with Dalia can undoubtedly be called as the healthy one.

There’s hardly any Indian home who do not know about the health benefits of Dalia.

Called by the different names in different parts of the country, like Fada in gujrati, Samba Rava and Godhuma Rava in Telugu and Cracked wheat, bulgar wheat or Broken wheat in English, Dalia is something which is usually relished by making a khichdi out of it or it is mostly prepared as a dessert.

Here we are presenting a totally new recipe made with Dalia as a star ingredient which is:

✓Helps in weight loss and muscle gain,

Rather, we have felt that this is one of the most  tasty-est cake we have ever eaten. Now it’s been decided amongest us that whenever we want to have a cake for tea time, we are going to make this dalia cake only. Really it was such a delicious and yummy one.

Eggless Dalia (broken wheat) cake recipe

STEP WISE PICTORIAL RECIPE OF EGGLESS DALIA (BROKEN WHEAT) CAKE RECIPE

 

1. Take 1 cup Dalia and 1/2 cup sugar in a grinder jar.

2. Grind them to a powder and add into a bowl. The texture of powder needs to be fine as much as possible. Our’s were almost 90% fine and 10% coarse.

3. Also add 3/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup oil.

4. Give them a good mix.

5. Rest them for 15-20 minutes.

6. Add 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/8 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp vanilla essence.

7. Mix well.

 

8. Pour the batter in a cake tin lined with greased butter paper.

9. Top with chopped nuts of your choice.

10. Bake in a pre-heated oven @170°C for 30 minutes.

11. Check by inserting a toothpick and if the toothpick comes out clean, that’s a sign that cake is properly baked.

12. Let cake cool down for 10 – 15 minutes on a cooling rack.

13. Invert the cake and remove the butter paper.

14. Again place the cake on cooling rack to cool down completely.

Eggless Dalia (broken wheat) cake recipe

  • 1 cup Dalia/broken wheat ((190 gram – unroasted)))
  • 1/2 cup sugar of your choice ((175 gram – we used brown sugar))
  • 3/4 cup milk ((180 ml))
  • 1/4 cup oil ((60 ml))
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • Nuts of your choice ((we used almonds, cashews and pistachios))

    In Dalia cake can we use jaggery instead sugar if yes then what will be the quantity of Jagger

      Absolutely yes and the quantity depends on the liking of your sweetness. But keep in mind that jaggery is lesser sweet than sugar. Thank you
