Badam pista chai recipe | dry fruit tea | masala chai recipe with a difference & we witnessed this difference at Giani Tea Stall, Amritsar, Punjab. This tea is a show stopper in this tea stall & shop attracts huge rush in the morning hours. Whosoever visits there, he can’t think of returning back without having a sip of this amazing tea.

We got the opportunity to visit there long back & somehow after a long struggle, could manage to have 2 cups of tea. The tea from its very look was like that you would love to gobble it in one go but alas, it was piping hot. Lol. Right there on the spot, we decided to make it for our blog but couldn’t make for no reason.

But there’s a saying, “better late than never”, so here we are. Although we couldn’t ask the shopkeeper about the recipe as it was huge rush there & moreover we weren’t sure we will get the recipe or not, but have developed this recipe after studying the cup of badam pista chai in our hand.

Step wise pictorial method of badam pista chai recipe

  1. Coarsely crush pistachios, almonds and green cardamom and keep aside.Badam pista chai recipe
  2. Now begin with making a cup of tea. Take milk & add sugar, tea leaves and chai ka masala in it.Badam pista chai recipe
  3. Let it boil and filter tea in a serving cup.Badam pista chai recipe
  4. It’s a time to prepare topping & for that, take milk in a pan and heat it. When the steam begins, off the flame. Here we don’t need to boil the milk.Badam pista chai recipe
  5. Create a froth/foam in the milk by dropping it between two utensils number of times from a height. In hindi, this process is generally called ‘Fentna”.Badam pista chai recipe
  6. With the help of a spoon, collect the milk froth/foam and place & spread it on tea very gently.Badam pista chai recipe
  7. Sprinkle crushed mixture of pistachios, almonds and green cardamom.Badam pista chai recipe

NOTES

  1. Make tea the way you prepare at your home. We haven’t added any spices because we have added chai ka masala, an amalgamation of all needed spices in tea.
  2. You only need the froth/foam of the milk for topping. This milk is not a waste & can be used the way you want.
  3. Tea shouldn’t turn cool while you prepare the froth. To prevent, better make froth just when the tea is about to be ready. Also better if you crush nuts & cardamom earlier, as we did.

Badam pista chai recipe is an innovative way to make simple tea royal & rich.

FOR TEA

  • 1 serving cup milk
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp tea leaves
  • 1/4 tsp Chai ka masala

FOR TOPPING

  • 1/2 Cup Milk (full fat preferably)
  • 2 pistachios
  • 2 almonds
  • 1 green cardamom
